What's new in OCTOBER?

Halloween is in full swing at the library! We've got a Halloween costume exchange, mini pumpkin decorating for kids, the annual book pumpkin decorating contest, a spooky cartooning workshop, and an ofrendas crafting workshop. See page 1 of the October newsletter and our CALENDAR for details.

Check out the Friends' October window, which features a display from the Nipomo 4-H -- just in time to celebrate National 4-H Week (Oct. 4-10).

The next Friends Board meeting is scheduled for Wed., Oct. 14, at 1:30pm. The public is always welcome to attend.

Mark your calendars for this year's final Friends Book Sale on November 14, 10am to 2pm. We could use donations of "gently loved" books geared toward preschool and elementary kids, plus full-size grocery bags. Please drop them by the library service desk.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT YOUR MEMBERSHIP IN THE FRIENDS
Regardless of the month you join, your membership runs from January 1 through December 31. Your membership dues, additional donations, and money raised through book sales and other fundraisers go to support the library beyond what the county can provide.
